As the world turns cold

And the words return

And the thoughts take hold

“I told you so”

When November rolls ‘round

The embers just charcoal

And you forget the sound

Of peace.

I thought I was getting better but last November I remember

I was just trying not to surrender

And here I am again with that same old condemner

Telling me “i told you so”

And I’m just wondering when I’ll be healed

And when I’ll stop missing these wounds’ appeal.
